Biografia:

Quando era criança Lady Gaga frequentou a escola privada Convento do Sagrado Coração, onde aprendeu a tocar piano e teve conhecimento do mundo da música. Aos dezassete anos foi estudar música na Universidade de Artes de Nova York. Antes de se lançar como cantora, Lady GaGa escrevia canções para artistas da Interscope como o grupo americano The Pussycat Dolls, e ainda escreveu uma das canções que foram bónus no Itunes do álbum Circus de Britney Spears, Quicksand.

Em 8 de Abril lançou seu primeiro compacto, "Just Dance", junto a um EP com 3 músicas (Beautiful Dirty Rich, Dirty Ice Cream e Rock Show).

No dia 13 de Julho, apresentou-se no Miss Universo 2008, no Vietnã, cantando seu primeiro single, Just Dance. A apresentação foi extremamente importante para divulgação da cantora e da música.

Logo, GaGa estourava nas paradas Canadenses, e seu álbum foi lançado no dia 19 de Agosto, dando também início a Mini-tour Haus of GaGa, que divulgava seu primeiro álbum. O CD recebeu uma reedição, contendo mais faixas, e foi lançado mundialmente no dia 28 de Outubro.

O segundo single do seu álbum de estreia seria Beautiful, Dirty, Rich, música que também serve de abertura para a série Dirty Sexy Money. O desempenho da faixa estava mais baixo do que a música que se tornou oficialmente o segundo single, "Poker Face" .
